Frequently Asked Questions
PeaceMakers School of Theology is a new, exciting e-learning opportunity for all believers who wish to deepen their walk with God. You receive an outstanding text-book in the mail, study your scheduled lesson for 30 minutes each day followed by 30 minutes of prayer time. You take an open-book test on-line every two weeks, and 24 months later, you’re a changed person
When you join PeaceMakers School of Theology, you purchase one of the finest theological study books available to Christians today – the original correspondence school curriculum from 1949, written by the legendary theologian Finis Jennings Dake, and compiled into one extraordinary text book entitled “God’s Plan for Man.”
Because the tests are open book we require that you receive an %80 or higher on each test to pass. At first this may seem scary, but after realizing that your grade is mainly dependent on whether or not you feel like looking for the answers we feel that this completely reasonable. Our school is challenging, as it should be, and will cause you to grow in every aspect of your christian life. When you finish, you will have a greater understanding of the Bible in all its entirety.
We don’t know about your church background, so we are unable to speak to whether or not your church affiliation will recognize an associate’s degree from PeaceMakers Institute, in conjunction with Cornerstone World Outreach Association. Typically, faithfulness to the local church, spiritual maturity, leadership, and functional bible knowledge that is visible in your daily lifestyle, will be measured by a church authority who is evaluating your teaching ability - long-before your education is considered.
If you wish to discover a fresh view of truth - PeaceMakers will challenge you deeply. Many of our current students are full-time ministers, some who have been in full-time ministry for more than thirty years. They would tell you that PeaceMakers has been invaluable to them for their continuing education.
The US government does not accredit schools. Instead, the United States Department of Education (USDE) approves associations which in turn actually accredit schools. The regional governmental accreditation associations serve as inspectors and overseers to regulate the nearly $80,000,000,000 congressionally-approved taxpayer investment in higher education known as "Title IV Funding."
"It should be noted that some institutions have chosen not to participate in the federal student aid program and therefore do not have to be approved by an accrediting agency recognized by the department." - United States Department of Education.
In actuality, the vast majority of Bible colleges and seminaries choose not to be governed by the USDE and do not seek regional accreditation.
Accreditation in the United States is a voluntary submission to standards of high academic quality, accurate record keeping, and ethical policies and practices. Accreditation is essentially a statement of approval. While PeaceMakers Institute: School of Theology has chosen not to seek governmental school accreditation (because we believe we should not allow unqualified secular/humanist institutions to dictate the qualifications for instructors or the programs for our Christian ministerial degree), our school does hold reciprocity with a university accredited through Accrediting Commission International (ACI), based in Lutz, Florida.
Many religious schools of higher learning have chosen to be accredited through Accrediting Commission International, because ACI is an internationally known, non-profit, church educational organization. ACI handles the accreditation of Christian theological seminaries, universities, and colleges throughout the world, providing supervision for almost 300 schools in 8 countries and in 38 states of the USA.
As an independent accrediting agency, ACI helps the religious world obtain accreditation that is not government affiliated, but exceeds educational standards set by the United States Department of Education, and other similarly situated state bureaucracies around the world. The form of ministry accreditation provided by ACI is recognized by most churches, ministry institutions, and ministry organizations. All ACI member institutions around the world accept credits from other member schools, if the credits apply to their programs.
Graduates of PeaceMakers Institute are awarded with an Associates Degree in Theology because they have successfully completed 64 credit hours of learning through our dynamic e-program. Our graduates have had this achievement honored by many secular schools around the United States while continuing their educations, and we are proud to hold reciprocity through Life Christian University who is accredited through ACI.
The typical brick and mortar school will almost always cost much more than PeaceMakers Institute’s very reasonable tuition. In fact, we don’t know of another Bible College in the United States where you can get two years of training for less than $1400.00
“With regard to learning, if you can succesfully accomplish this on your own, then you are a rare species of human. You may well be better off learning on your own, and it will certainly cost you less. My experience, however, reveals that few individuals have the kind of personal discipline to put themselves through a two-year (daily) systematic study of theology, without placing a value upon it financially, and accepting the accountability necessary for a long term goal. As King David implied, we do not value what costs us nothing. When it’s all said and done, you are the only person who can answer this question: “Do you have the persevering nature to complete a comprehensive study of theology on your own?”
