Dr. Douglas Bankson
Doug Bankson is an accomplished musician, seasoned preacher, and gifted teacher of the Gospel. The call of God upon his life came at a young age while traveling with his musically gifted family, ministering the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the United States.
In 1981, Pastor Bankson enrolled at Missouri Southern State College, where he majored in Music Education. Later, he attended Word of Faith Leadership and Bible Institute and The Kings College and Seminary, completing masters and doctoral level classes in Pastoral Nurturing. He holds a theological degree from PeaceMakers School of Theology and a Masters in Theology from Life Christian University.
In 1983, Pastor Bankson accepted his first pastorate position at Cornerstone World Outreach in Sioux City, Iowa. Over the next ten years, Doug faithfully served as an associate pastor/youth minister in the local church. During that time, Doug took multiple mission trips to South America, where he taught in Bible schools, working and ministering in both city and rural areas.
While in Sioux City, Doug met and married his wife, Jeri, also an ordained minister. God blessed the Banksons with four children: Benjamin, Joseph, Michael, and Victoria.
In 1992, the Bankson family moved to Central Florida, joining his twin brothers, Jeff and Joe Bankson, for a second-generation musical group, Brother. In 1995, Pastors Doug and Jeri Bankson pioneered Victory Church World Outreach Center, a multi-generational, non-denominational ministry located in Apopka, FL.
Along with his pastoral ministry, Pastor Doug is a pilot, certified scuba diver, author of the book “Love Your Woman,” and an accomplished songwriter having received an Addy Award for singing on the radio. Pastor Doug has also been heavily involved in his local community, currently serving as Apopka Seat 3 City Commissioner and having served as the President of the Apopka Ministerial Alliance and the Chairman of the Apopka City Chamber of Commerce.
