Frankenstein: The New Republican
Between the dates of February 22–27, 2009, an acquaintance of mine associated with the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce compiled several news articles to summarize the agenda of President Barak Obama as reflected in one simple week. Here’s what he compiled:
1) Silence dissent and disregard the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution through use of the “fairness doctrine”
2) Control the media by utilizing liberal bias and elitists
3) Wipe out the incentive to profit through individual risk taking, hard work, and innovation
4) Control the banks (Bush Bailout I – TARP)
5) Control manufacturing (Obama Bailout II – auto industry)
6) Deny citizens rights to firearms
7) Do everything possible to undermine and de-value human life
8) Force licensed physicians to ignore their conscience and engage in government mandated killing of babies
9) Destroy charitable donations forcing those in need to rely exclusively on the government
10) Spend the country into bankruptcy
11) Dictate and mandate how to raise your family and your children
12) Make every citizen dependent on the centralized government for healthcare
13) Make every citizen dependent on the centralized government for education (re-education)
14) Steal and corrupt the decennial national census to exploit congressional power
15) Surrender to foreign enemies by withdrawing for political reasons, while ignoring the consensus of scholarly military recommendations.
The previous fifteen items underscore what happens when Republicans forget that faith in God is the cornerstone of true conservatism. Why would I say that? How do I extrapolate this conclusion? Here’s why, and my answer will serve as the basis for the remainder of this article: Government MUST, of necessity, become “God” to a society that “thinks” in the vacuum created by liberal Democrats and Republican R.I.N.O.s. When you throw God out of public life, the public begins to actually live as if the Government was their God. This is the general underpinning of all secular/socialist/Marxist governments – dependency.
Please read my next statement slowly: “Nothing could be more damning to the free markets than what I just described!” (Pause to reflect!)
An American culture, filled with a population who has decided to vote themselves and their country into a full-fledged, no-holds-barred nanny-state… Turning their backs on quite-literally EVERYTHING about America that made us the most unique and powerful nation on earth… Ignorant of many, if not all the lessons of history (angry and offended when reminded so), the present mobocracy [RINOs (Republicans-In-Name-Only) included] are hell-bent on social and economic self-destruction. Even formerly staunch supporters of Obama, like the financial guru, Warren Buffett, have now publically recoiled from the unmistakable consequences to come from the cart-blanche communistic/socialistic policies blowing out of the White House press room at the pace of a Midwestern tornado.
My acquaintance at the Chamber, who is usually very non-partisan when he writes, entitled his compilation of news stories “U.S. Government Rejects Founders Dream of America.” This is an interesting title to consider, particularly for some Republicans who have lost their way in recent years. I would be remiss at this juncture, if I did not point out that one of the most important parts of the founders’ dream did NOT exclude God from public life. This fact is simply not up for a debate and is ensconced in the historical archives, yet the rift in the Republican Party (the one that put McCain at the top of the ticket) shares the desire of Democrats to do just that!
I can still remember during the campaign, when a reporter asked Joe Biden something like, “are your policies socialist?” He courtesy-laughed, and crooned, “You’re joking, right?” Well, to answer for us all, “No – they weren’t joking, Mr. Vice President.” All rhetoric and semantic arguments about the definition of words aside, we should now all be able to agree upon what the Democratic Party TRULY stands for, and how they plan to achieve their goals.
For the record, I offer my congratulations to Democrats everywhere, not because I agree with ANY of your socialistic or Marxist ideology, but because you at least have shown that you possess one – an ideology, I mean – and you aren’t ashamed to be true to it after you’re elected! I do admire that in a party very much. The danger for my Democrat friends, of course, is the possibility that someday the Republican Party will recapture their ideology and act upon it, too. On that day, and not a day sooner, Democrats will lose power in the United States…again.
The aforementioned compilations of 15 national headlines make the creed of Democrats pretty clear. For some people, those headlines are thrilling, but for those who understand history, they are nothing short of terrifying. Unfortunately, as I alluded to previously, we still have a considerable rift in the Republican Party – a rift between those who understand the value of social conservatism and those who don’t.
Whether or not America will recover from the extreme liberalism reflected in the fifteen articles sited above will be entirely dependent upon whether or not grass-roots Republicans stamp-out those who have rejected true conservatism in favor of the experimentations of politics’ proverbial Dr. Frankenstein: the pieced and patched together tapestry of liberal republicanism – a brand of political ideology with, well, almost no identifiable ideology.
Let’s see, there’s the “social-liberal, quasi-fiscal conservative Republican.” Then there’s the “social-liberal, sometimes fiscal liberal, sometimes fiscal conservative Republican.” Then there’s the “quasi-sometimes social liberal, sometimes social conservative, fiscally liberal Republican. “ Ugh! Who can keep this group straight?
Anyway, core conservatives know exactly what I’m talking about, Democrats are thrilled to be reminded, and the RINOs? Well, they probably won’t ever “get it!” Not “getting it” is, after all, why we call them RINOs. – big and heavy like an elephant, but at the end of the day, not an elephant. True, they have the same pre-historic looking gray hide, but in contrast to an elephant, if there were such a classification in the animal kingdom – rhinos would be considered legally blind.
The root of everything that is wrong with BOTH Democrat and Republican parties is reduced to one simple word. It is truly not confusing. It’s called “secularism.” Secularism is little more than a watered-down version of cultural Marxism. The financial ramifications of Marxism are horrible, as we should all now know, but the negative social impact just can’t be quantified.
Democrats aside, I could put together a considerable list of RINOs in my own little town, who are de-facto enablers of this economic disaster [alleged “Republican leaders” who voted for the likes of Iowa State Senator Steve Warnstadt (D) in a recent election and who recruited Mike Hobart (R) for our city council]. Why? Because despite their party affiliation, they are, in so many ways, the same. They are both proud secularists.
I don’t intend to address the long list of elected officials responsible for America’s troubles, at least not in this article, but rather, the citizens at the local level. It’s really OUR fault, isn’t it? We elected these people, didn’t we? What I mean to say is that keeping a strictly economic view of politics (whether they are local, state or federal-level politics), while simultaneously marginalizing those pesky social issues, comes back to haunt us when something called “greed” ruins the fractional reserve banking system.
Greed, of course, being one of those pesky “social issues” that many in our business community and in organizations like the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce claim we should “leave for discussions at church.” This is precisely the brand of business leader that the Chamber routinely churns-out at almost every local election – secularists. And it is done so regularly because Chamber leadership apparently insists, however ignorantly, to propel local leaders whose fitness for office is evaluated exclusively through a financial lens.
The Obama-factor is little more than a snap-shot of what happens with de-centralized government…when our grass-roots “virtues” trickle-up to the federal level and return to slap us in the face. I hope to someday enjoy a time when such organizations produce shameless social conservatives as well as they seem to be able to produce the Frankenstein version.
Until the leadership in every town, small or large, recognizes the inseparable nature of money and morality and produce candidates for local office that comprehend such, we will continue seeding the problem of secularism (cultural Marxism), and have little right to whine about the fruit of those seeds planted long ago and now producing their natural consequence – Barak Obama.
I don’t know about you, personally, but I think the most extraordinary marketing mastermind and financial expert in all of world history (Jesus Christ) had the connection between economics and morality coined into a very wise slogan, “The love of money is the root of all evil.”
When our local leaders have a worldview that reflects THAT kind of genius (with regard to the connection between economics and ethics), Sioux City, along with every other northwest Iowa town, will share in a new dimension of prosperity and growth.
My conclusion: Obama is the federal price we’ll all pay together for throwing God and religion under the local bus.
Let’s hope our local Republican friends can learn the lesson John McCain and his supporters taught us during the last election cycle: a pieced-together hodge-podge of conflicting ideas that betray historical conservative values lacks excitement – much like Frankenstein lacked a soul. When Republicans pretend to be Democrats, they lose. When Democrats pretend to be conservative, they win.
Maybe the day will come when someone will choose to run for office and stop pretending. I think that will be a very good day for us all.
